After upgrading my Mac OS X from 10.10.5 Yosemite to El Capitain 10.11.4 I found that I could no longer connect to SMB or CIFS network shares.

We’ve been making use of some of the Restful API’s for Aleph which is our Integrated Library System (ILS) from Exlibris Software.

Projects:

1. Integrate with Aeon, the Special Collections circulation and tracking system.
2. Add a Faculty Driven Acquisitions feature which provides faculty to recommend a purchase when a title they search for is not in already in our collection.

Aleph is our ILS system. It is a big expensive proprietary system from Exlibris Software which we’ve been using since 2001 which is 14 years now! Exlibris has some Restful APIs available for Aleph. Rather than just one API there are three which makes working with Aleph API’s tricky but there is little we can do about that.
